I'm Cole

I started this blog as an outlet for all the "profound" ideas that I have pop into my brain. Initially, most of these ideas were sports related but I knew that I wanted to afford myself the opportunity to delve into other topics I'm passionate about like addiction and film. Through this blogging process I've also come to appreciate the outlet as a means to continue to improve upon my writing. With each blog I feel like I can say I've improved my ability to craft the story I'm trying to tell in a way that's fun and easy to read while finding more ways to add my personality to the style.

Some background: I'm a 26-year-old recovering alcoholic, I say that right out of the gate because it's what defines me, the one thing I can never forget. I sobered up January 14, 2022, just a month removed from my 24th birthday and it's the greatest accomplishment I'll ever achieve in life because of what that decision has given me since. Due to being a drunk for many years, I'm a little behind on a professional career. I'm currently taking classes online towards a degree in finance, expecting to graduate in March of 2025. Once I have a degree, I'd ideally like to work in the sports world in any facet. This was another reason I started this blog; to put together a collection of stories I composed to put on a resume to show that I'm passionate and have a good understanding.
